Vegas video opacity?

Post by Mazena » Thu Apr 05, 2007 7:48 pm

Okaay, so I know how to change the opacity for the whole video clip and how to fade in and out, but I have no clue how to just flash another video in the background while keeping the original clip intact. In premiere 6 I just placed some markers and dragged the opacity line as I wanted.

However, I don't know how to place such markers in vegas. When I drag the opacity bar, it lowers the whole clips opacity, not just the part that I want to be transparent. Do I have to cut the clips and do it the hard way or is there a way to do it like in premiere?

You do the same thing, you just need to use a video "Envelope"

with the video track highlighted, go to

Insert -> Video Envelope -> Track Composite Level

You should see a blue line. Double click to set a marker and right click to change the settings.
