Angel Sanctuary - it's about angels. You may also consider using ANgel Sanctuary manga, since later chapters have a lot more of them.

Visions of Escaflowne - If i remember correctly Van have an angel wings from time to time.

And if you want to do a comedy approach there is always "Club to death angel Dokuro" , where cute angel girl dashes with giant mace and constanly kills and revives main character.

d.n.angel has alot of "angel action scenes" and one pouty Dark scene O.o but not really "crying" :/
