HELP ME PLEASE! (downloading)

Post by Etyrnal » Mon Feb 12, 2007 10:17 am

Hey guys, I appreciate you reading this. I've read the guide for downloading AMVs, but I can't seem to download any!!! First of all, there is direct. Most of the time when I try to download direct, or whatever it is called, the green one, I right click and hit "Save target as". Unfortunately, most every time it comes up with an error message, and when it doesn't, it says the file type I'm downloading is HTML Document. Second, indirect. Almost always, when I try this, it takes me to one of those generic sites that has links to similar things. And finally, local. Whenever I go to "local", it works up until the point where it says that if it doesn't load in ten seconds, a link will appear in ten seconds. The download box never appears, and neither does the link. I just joined yesterday, does that have something to do with it? Are none of the downloads working because I am new? Please help, someone, I just don't know how to do this, and I'm sick of finding videos on YouTube. Please Help!! ThanX

the link is at the very bottom of the page for the local... and its very tiny... you might want to ajust your pop-up blocker to allow for animemusicvideos.org that might help. (it doesnt have any other pop-ups anyways thankgoodness)

as for the direct/indirect its up to the person who listed the video to keep those links up...

for direct links (for the longest time, till i reset firefox to "automatically download" avis when i click on them instead of "play in plug in") i used to just open the same page in internet explorer and do the "right click and save as" because i wouldnt have that save the html as problem on that browser

well if your using ActiveX it should allow you to see the DL and you can save it as well since that happen to when I was new last month.

Also much better to say set your POP-UP blocker and make full access to a-m-v.org and if you see direct/indirect there something problem that too... possibility the owner of the AMV you want to watch she/he didn't update the link he added but I would say find the local instead of getting Direct/Indirect since local isn't bad too.

I got issues that too but I just leave it and I'm looking for AMV locally, well sometimes I got lucky in direct/indirect but mostly much I like locally I got nothing problem to that. ;)

ah ha! that's probably the problem.
Internet Explorer 7 (don't know when this started) blocks attemps to download things like the videos from this site.
you either have to allow pop-ups for this site, after you click "local" and then "procede" hold down ctrl (overrides IE's pop-up blocker) or get firefox (if you use windows and have not installed firefox before, donate $1 to the site by looking at the bottom of one of phade's posts

this site is designed to work best with firefox.
if you aren't using internet explorer, then the ctrl override might not work

 yeah it is commonly the problem those who using IE7 and that happen to me before so I use my other browser and my FF.2 is working pretty smoothly in this site, well they can use 0pah or like that but I would say FireFox is the best browser here 8-)

I say mine is a declaration about FireFox 8-), so to others don't hesitate to use FireFox than IE7 here.
