Yeah, same address. Make sure you include Red Wolf Studio on it so I can tell is apartThe Wired Knight wrote:I think you have one of mine allready, but I can send you a VCD with two videos that were not on the original version I sent you. Same address?

I'm going to pester all of the submitters to the compilation CD to see if they would mind if I added the compilation CD to the mix.

I'll eventually send in some videos to you, Red Wolf. Just email me your address (I had it on the envelope from the AWA Comp. CDs, but I threw the envelope out, ahaha). Oh yeah, and I don't mind if you put in my video from the Comp. CD, but I'd wrather you not since I'll be remastering it between now and Christmas.

No problem, will email you tomorrow (have email difficulties right now).NicholasDWolfwood wrote:I'll eventually send in some videos to you, Red Wolf. Just email me your address.
Tell ya what, by December I'll be long out of the original compilation CD sets so when you remaster the video send it to me and I'll "adjust" the compilation CD accordingly. That way the CD set can still go out and when you have a new version out it'll be updated. How's that sound?NicholasDWolfwood wrote:Oh yeah, and I don't mind if you put in my video from the Comp. In regard to other mirrors.
Consider a fictitious Australian AMV creator let's call them, Sammy sends in a CD. Would I...
1) Send a copy to every other distro (US, Europe, Canada, Africa, Asia, South America, Antarctica it could happen) Costly and complicated as far as postage goes.
2) Send a copy to a primary distributor (Red Wolf for example), then other distributors can get it from them.
3) Add the CD to the database. Wait until a particular mirror gets a request. Then send them the CD.
4) Or something much more complicated that I can't think of right now.

Well I would have to find a way to get some kind of money out of this (not for profit but, to break even) I can only imagine the costs of sending a DVDR to Red Wolf every week along with a note: "OK, what's new this time around"
An idea might be paid membership (we can charge people for that). Make it relatively cheap, but enough to lose the "Black Hole" effect the word FREE generates.klinky wrote:My suggestion was simply because I've seen alot of "FREE" stuff go by the wayside do to overdemand...![]()

Mirror Distros: First let me say there are no plans to set up mirrors right now aside from my site and AD's site. I can't say for certain but I would think when and if we needed mirrors setting up mirror distros would eventually work something like this. Since the majority of CDs will be submitted to the first distro by the time we started up mirror distros and initial package of every CD would be sent to the mirror. Shipping costs would be something that would need to be worked out. Updates between the mirror and U.S. distro could then take place on a regular basis, perhaps ever 3 to 6 months depending on shipping costs.
Money: AD said it best a few posts ago:
Charging for services rendered = bad.
Tipping is welcome though.
