VOB's in Virtual Dubb? O.o

Post by Kevmaster » Fri Jan 12, 2007 12:06 pm

I'm trying to rip my Amimes from DVD. Especially I'm trying FF VII: Advent Children. I already used DVD Decrypter like THIS GUIDE says.

The Guide says:

Loading into VirtualDubMod and making clips - VirtualDubMod has MPEG2 support and you can easily load vob files into it and recompress them any which way you like...

Well, I tried to add the VOB's into Virtual DUbb but I alsways get a Error message that says:

MPEG Import Filter: invalid pack at position 3: marker bit not set: possibly MPEG-2 stream

I ripped The DVD now 3 times but I always get that message when i try to add it to Virtual Dubb

can someone plese help me?

There's nothing wrong with this but by doing things this way you are missing out on all sorts of excellent features (such as IVTC) that Avisynth has to offer. Don't use shortcuts: they aren't worth the time saved.

Thats all it says...But It says I can use Virtual dubb and I cant and I want to know whats my problem @.@

So, as you've guessed we'll be doing number 4 - AviSynth with MPEG2Dec. Thankfully the AMVapp contains all the necessary programs and copies them to all the right places and in case you haven't realised already it's pretty much required to use this guide correctly. Go get it.

If you want to get all the software yourself then what you need is:

AVISynth - at time of writing the guide, the latest version is 2.55. Go here for the latest.
DGINDEX(fixed) - commonly considered the most stable version of what was once DVD2AVI
DGDecode.dll - an avisynth plugin that interprets dvd2avi project files. Included with DGMpegDec.

Of course, as I cannot be certain that you are using the correct versions and are using them in the right way you are pretty much on your own if you want to take this route. Please use the AMVapp if you have any doubts and don't install new software on top of the AMVapp if you do not know whether things are compatible or not.

OK, so you have your vobs, you have the AMVapp - let's have a look at that footage and see what we can do with it.
