AVI: Stream has no indexed entries -error?

Post by Autraya » Fri Dec 08, 2006 6:08 am

Okey dokey not sure if this is the right forum to post this (went searching for a similar problem and couldn't find one, bi the way)... but here goes.
I have exported my 'final' vid from premiere and I get this interesting message when opening it up in media player

Now the question is... wots going on?
I was reading EADFAG (and following instructions, 'cause I'm an adobe 'tard) and it said it would take a while to save, well 10 mins later I'm thinking "thats pretty fast" ? "lets just check the file" and bingo... there is a problem.
Did I export incorrectly (I used Huffv (uncompressed?), with the same settings that I opened it with.)?
or is using an MP3 for audio?
or CCCP(Haali) just misbehaving?
or none of the above?
This is probably something really bloody simple again
Pls help.

First of all, stop using the Haali Media Splitter to split your AVIs (as I said in a different thread).

Then tell us your Premiere export settings.

Agh, double post.

It might also help to try opening the file in VirtualDub(/Mod) instead and see what happens.

technically it came in CCCP which i use 2 play mp4 through media player as there are many mp4's in my playlist. (winamp doesn't have pictures).
is there a better codec pack that allows mp4 in media player (I don't want to swap to VCL(?))

It was only causing problems in WMM, which I'm no longer using.
Anyway I've uninstalled CCCP (incl Haali but not the AMVAPP plugin's)
And am resaving the file now.

export settings are almost exactly the same as EADFAG, except I am using NTSC 29.something fps, and the version of Huffyv in the App 2.1.1
I'm using DVD footage not AVIsynths to edit as well. oh and not keeping an alpha channel this time because I'm not using AE on the vid.

ooohh look it worked (evil Haali!).
vid looks very jerky in media player, am guessing thats just because of the size? there was some mention of jerkyness in EADFAG.

Scintilla, whatever would we do without you?
I bow to your superior wisdom once again! :D

virtualdub has batch mode. if you need to split files, use it instead

You don't need to use Haali for splitting AVIs unless you already have a specific problem with AVI. Use the default splitter instead.

Minion & Zero1
What I'm trying to say is that I'm not using Haali to split AVI's, in fact I'm not using Haali purposefully at all in this instance, 'cause I'm not trying to split at all.
It is just interferring with what I'm trying to do, it starts splitting everytime I load Media player (or was, until I uninstalled last night). which for some reason won't let me play the saved premiere file (but does play nearly everything else) when Haali is installed.
I thought my problem was related to exporting from premiere... but it doesn't seem to be that, it seems to be that Haali is on my pc.

Does this make more sense now?

If I come across an instance where I do need to split I will use the default as suggested.
