Help needed

i am new to making amvs so i am not sure why this is happening.
I have ripped my dvd on to the comp and i have imported it into windows movie maker. I can see the clips on the screen when i play them individually but it says they are audio clips and will only put them in the audio area and not the video.
Does anyone know why this is? How can I fix it?

what format are you using?

do you mean what format the clips are in?
i think they are VOB

try this:
DVD Ripping

in other words use Virtualdub Mod to convert the files to AVI
