So I read the FAQs. I read the sticky on uploads. And I followed the guide on the How-to section step by step.
I am still stuck
So here's how far I've gotten:
I'm set up until the point when I go to "upload file" and get the username, password, link, etc.
I do NOT have a firewall up so this would not be the problem.
yet I can't go to the link through FileZilla and entering it directly into the address bar as in the How-to guide fails as well--- it gives me a little hope by showing me that the file is opening only to tell me (without asking for the password or anything) that I do not have access, suck at life, and will not be able to upload anything (well, in fewer words than that).
Help please.

So here is, word by word, what my problems are:Kariudo wrote:posting some screenshots or error messages would help
When presented with the following info:
[Kalium: FTP info redacted.]
Normal browser tells me:
FTP Folder Error
Windows cannot access this folder. Make sure you typed the file name correctly and that you have permission to access the folder.
CuteFTP tells me:
The connection failed due to an error or timeout.
1) please verify that the destination host name or IP address is correct
2) increase the connection timeout threshold under global settings / connection
3) switch to the opposite date connection type (PASV or PORT) under the Site settings/ type tab.
Firezilla tells me the same as normal browser in less words.

perhaps you should try putting in kero.animemusicvideos.org (no capitalization)
and make sure that you are entering your username and password letter for letter (password and username are case sensitive)
does your internet connection go though a router? if so then it may have a built-in hardware/software firewall. In such a case you should try using passive mode with filezilla/cute ftp
you could also try port forwarding...but I have no experience with that

tried in cute ftp to use passive mode... didn't work
no idea what port forwarding means so that's going no where
(on the bright side, no solutions means i wasn't just being stupid and failing to see the answer on the thread... on the downside, my pretty amv remains unseen
Any other suggestions? I'll try anything!!

Simply clicking on the link you provided worked for me (which is bad, because that means anyone could upload whatever they wanted to your account and there'd be nothing you could do about it) so it's not a site-side error. You must have some sort of firewall blocking access to the ftp server. Are you connected through a router you control? If so, as a quick fix you could connect directly to the modem and send it that way for now.
