Of all the Rush albums I've heard ALL of the songs on so far, "Test For Echo" is my favorite.

I love Rush. One of my favorite all time rock bands and certainly my favourite Canadian Band. I am so pumped that they are coming out with a new album and thus I hope a tour to go with it. I didn't appreciate them enough last time they were in town, but I wouldn't miss them for the world now. I only have Chronicle thier best of from 1990, which only has slightly more songs than they play on the radio but I want to hear the 2112/Farewell to Kings/Hemispheres Saga. My favourtie Rush song by a fairly wide margine is The Spirit of Radio(listening to it now) followed by Limelight then Fly by Night and the 2112 Overture and that epic instrumental La Villa Strangiato.

As far as the talent of the group, I think they might be the most talented three musicians ever assembled. Lee is a mind blowing bassist, I think I only have ever seen one guy better and lets face it I have never heard a keyboardist asside from Lee and maybe John Paul Johns who didn't blow.

Lifeson is a masterful guitarist and they intro to Limelight is one of my all time favourite riffs. Lifeson is supposed to have the most complex sound processing of any one, and when you hear how clean it comes out that is no shock.

Then of course how can one neglect to mention Neal Peart often called and seldom disputed as the greatest drummer to ever. The man plays a god damned 360 degree drum kit. His performance at Rush in Rio is supposed to be mind blowing.

After Geddy Lee Moved his massive base amplifier set up under the stage so he could "feel the music" as base is often drowned out by the guitar and drumming , the void that was created was filled by three washing machines washing tour shirts.

Today I swung by the ol' music store and picked up A Farewell to Kings and Perminant Waves. So far I am halfway through A Farewell to Kings and I have to say I really like Xanadu.

Jordon Rudess (Dream Theater), Derek Sherinian (Planet X), Pat Moraz (Yes), Michael Pinella (Symphony X), and Jens Johannsen (Stratovarius) are all great keyboardists. Plenty more.

Well I will certainly bow to your superior knowledge of music. However I will maintain my opinion that the keyboard pales in comparison to the drums guitar and bass as an instrument. Certainly the way Geddy Lee plays the bass at any rate.

I'm sorry, that opinion is a tad dumb. As you said yourself, it's not instruments, it's the players.

There are a LOT of great keyboardists out there, both well-known and less so. Many classic rock bands wouldn't really be the same without keyboards - even just as backup instruments. Prog rock wouldn't exist without keyboards (it was the advent of the mellotron, cheap electric organs and later synthesizers that really got the more intelligent side of rock going, not development in guitar playing as might be commonly mistaken).

Aside from Flint's list, at least be a good classic rock listener and listen to some Rick Wakeman (Yes), Tony Banks (Genesis) or Keith Emerson (ELP).
