Problems with Sony Vegas 6.0

Sony Vegas works perfecty but whener I play the video ( avi.) the screen on the lower right corner is still black. Do i need a codec ? (if I do can u help me find it?

) or i need to make some settings there?or maybe it doesnt support the vid?

what codec is the video youre importing?

if its XVID or DIVX it wont work.

I'd suggest using Lagarith or Huffyuv for avi files imported to Vegas

I downloaded both huffyuv and lazarith but what do i do next? i dont have anything to start the programs and there are just Read Me's -_-
btw i was too lazy to edit the last post ehehhe

I opened VirtualDub and compressed to RGB i think and it didn't work
Can someone please give me more details on this? I'm a noob ,I know ,but i wanna understand!!!!please help me,help another anime and AMV lover to become an expert!! and quick!!

Okay so i got the idea i gotta made it into a WMV but what program do i have to use to make a video that is XVID like that?

Start>All Programs>XviD>Nic's Mini AviC FourCC Changer

Change the XviD footage's description and used code to DivX. =D

It says it wont open the file
sheesh why does there need to be such a fuss over a minor change?!?!?!!?
any ideas left?

any programs like Real Player, Windows Media Player, VCL Player etc. do anything to change from avi to wmv ?

If it won't open file that means the file is in use. Close Vegas first.

i usually would run them through virtualdub mod and resave them using lagarith... of course the audio might get unsynced (or atleast that happens to me) but if youre making an amv you dont need the audio anyways right??
