Since I have this thread, bring up another problem.

I've exported the video from Premiere Pro using both HufFYuv and Lagarith. Both export fully with the audio. However, when I open it it VCL Media player, only the audio plays, no video. I did the same with Windows Media Player and WinAmp and both give me this error message:

Haali Media Splitter

AVI: Stream has no index entries.

Meh??? o_0

I've even tried exporting with ffdShow for the hell of it and it crashes premiere after 62 frames.

The only way it works is if I export using PICVideo MJPEG.

But can you open the HuffYUV/Lags file in, say, VirtualDub?

Nope. I get the following error message:

Couldn't locast decompressor for format 'HFYU' (Huffyuv).
Virtual Dub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatable codec to decompress video. DirectShow codec, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable. Only 'Direct stream copy' is available for this video.

I do have Huffyuv on my pc.

Humor me? Uninstall the HuffYUV codec, then get this version (2.1.1) and install that. See if it works any better.

VLC doesn't play huffyuv and lagarith. On my PC, they open in vdub, windows media player, quicktime, but not VLC.

I don't even get audio with my Lagarith files, but VLC will play HuffYUV files just fine. Is there some way of getting it to recognise additional codecs? I can't even find anything on the problem itself using Google.

There must have been a hiccup when I orginally reinstalled Huff and Lag after the crash. I dL'd the version Scintilla gave me and it seems to work now. I'm just confused as to why both codecs won't play in any media player. I have before it the past. Oh well. I think everything is running smoothly right now so I'm gonna get editing again. If I run into any other problems, I'll let y'all know.
