What's the logic behind putting the automatic topic lock on this forum? In a forum where only a mod can post, necroposting doesn't seem like such a problem. They're not creating topics to discuss how much naruto rocks when there's already 20 threads about it, the person is simply replying to one. If this forum is to be locked, then why not lock the recommended amvs forum as well? No ones posted in the japanese video games thread since january. Is it the volume of threads that acts as the discriminating factor?

Only people with mod access can create threads in Anime Series Discussion, but that doesn't necessarily prevent necroposting. Automatic topic locking DOES prevent necroposting since it removes a mischief maker's ability to post in those old threads. It's easier to manage for us and it's a simple matter to request a thread unlock.
