VLC Media Player
SUre, it's not pretty. Sure, it looks like something that came out of Windows 98. BUT - With the ability to open any media file, it's a welcome pleasure to those AMV watchers with a bad media player.

Speak for yourself. I think minimalist, especially on windows, is beautiful.code_chrono wrote:Sure, it's not pretty. Sure, it looks like something that came out of Windows 98. BUT - With the ability to open any media file, it's a welcome pleasure to those AMV watchers with a bad media player

My experiences with VLC have been less than favorable overall. WMP 6.4 with the proper filters works far better on my computer (and of course, mplayer does too). I recommend it on my video pages because it's a quick fix, but you still need a fairly powerful computer to handle the built-in H.264 decoding, and there's that little issue with the track bar not being very accurate...
Agreed. This is one part about VLC (among others) that I do appreciate.Kionon wrote:Speak for yourself. I think minimalist, especially on windows, is beautiful.

Wow, Windows 98 must have looked pretty damn good.code_chrono wrote:SUre, it's not pretty. Sure, it looks like something that came out of Windows 98.
Seriously, though, VLC has no single frontend.

if your afraid of downloading any codecs.. vlc media player is the way to go. it's the best for me when it comes to playing mp4 files besides quicktime.. quicktime doesn't even go full screen for me either because i didn't buy the full version.. vlc just like every other player besides quicktime has full screen mode by defualt so it's the way to go.

Kratos could totally beat up your dad. With his own limbs. Unless your dad is Voltron.

I use it for playing MP4s, OGMs, MKVs, etc. It was quicker and more hassle-free to set my system back up that way after I reformatted a month back.

Man if you're gona pimp a program, at least link it's website rather than a third party add-filled download page.code_chrono wrote:SUre, it's not pretty.
