Maybe if you read it as the AMV isn't showing up properly cuz if you have too little ram it can cause your videos to studder. But I think the only hardware sollution to slow internet speeds is to get either broadband or if you already got it, a faster service.
i was using it as a point to say she needed t ogive more info not actually meaning that would be the problem

well I dont exactly know what you mean by this b/c it could mean 2 things that I know of

1) after you download amvs they lag allot and play slowly

2) when you download amvs it downloads slowly

if its 1 I dont know what to do but most likely you have to get some more ram >.>

if its 2 then kill the basterds who made dial up so slow

Wrong. Find the people responsible for high speed and choke them until they promise to make it avaliable everywhere ><

Satelight Internet is broadband and is availible (according to it's proponents) everywhere...

but the service also comes at a premium price
$60/mo
$600 installation ($300 with the promo they have)

dsl varies from $13/mo to something very much higher ($40/mo at the site I looked at)

Cable is about $40-$60/mo

...I'd probably stick with dial-up (although I hate using it).
but if you want to shell out the money for a T1, I'm sure someone would listen

I'm on a 24Mbps connection for $AU50 per month. Yeah you heard me, 24Mbps. Ok so my distance from the exchange strains the speed a little. But still, 1MB/s downloads ain't anything to complain about.

Another thing with satellite internet, aside from the high cost, is that it's bad for online gaming. Since the signal is going up into orbit and back down again, this causes high latency--from what I've heard, you'll get about a 2sec delay in game. In that respect, dial-up can actually be better.

Well, I wasn't actually saying it was good, I was just saying that the suggestion that broadband isn't availible everywhere is categorically incorrect.
