getting clips

Hi I was wondering where you guys get all your clips from. I'm trying to make one, but all the clips I can find are always in .wmv format and I need .mov and i have now idea how to switch em on a mac. Help please!

scroll down a bit for the Mac particulars.

But I recommend using DVDs for footage. I makes getting clips easier and the quality is better. And you don't have to worry about subtitles either.

What program should I use to go from DvD to iMovie? I've tryed a couple but non of them worked.

Kio to the rescue.

You will want to rip with MacTheRipper and convert with DiVA. I am writing up a step by step Mac AMV editing guid as we type.
