While obviously you're being facetious, the point is still valid. I've used fansubs to get kids to read, and learn network skills. Even here on the .org, you'll note that while it exists, people are encouraged to actually spell the things they are trying to say instead of using IM shorthand.

I actually rather liked the descriptions in the two articles posted. It was one of the more cogent descriptions that I've seen.

Nice pic requiett, lol.
So what it's saying is that we created our own sub culture for anime and the like because modern culture rejected us? But anine IS main stream now, isn't it? I dungedid.
Also, if by mean 'honing', they mean locking ourselves in our rooms and editing for countless hours, then i think we should stop honing our skills. Lets not forget, some kid died in korea from playing Warcraft for 52 hours, it's only a matter of time till somebody does the same for editing.
Though i do agree that we are superior to the rest of humanity, PUNY EARTHLINGS! I CAN EDIT AT 10X THE SPEED OF YOU ALL! MUWAHAHA ...hm -_-.
I also don't get the literary comment, i mean, my spelling sucks and i use nothing but net slang. But i'll agree that we are learning somethings more then we usually would without this 'subculture' of ours. Interesting article ...
