i needz help

yo, i need some help here. the video files i want to put in an amv aren't supported by my movie maker, and the video converter i got can't read the files. i'm just wondering how do i convert those files?

First off, what movie maker are you using? I'm assuming Windows Movie Maker? What program are you using to try to convert your video files? What format are the video files in and if they are AVI, what codec are they encoded in if they aren't uncompressed? We can't really answer your questions without knowing this stuff.
