I would also want like to mention that Anime Evolution's AMV contest does not have pre-determined categories, but rather 6 category slots that get determined after all the submission deadline based on the best fit from all entries. This gives a more even distribution and more equal chance to all videos. (last year over 40% of the submissions fell into Drama and thus 3 of the 6 categories were Dramatic, Sentimental and Romance)... This system has proven in the past two years to work quite well. And as always, all accepted entries will be shown during prime-time in the AMV room.

This is the same FTP site as for Anime Evolution so if you wish to submit to both, only one upload along with a filled out entry form file for each contest is required.

Just finished processing! This year we got a whooping 83 entries!!!

After reviewing all the videos and the best preferred categories requested, here are the five categories and # of video in each:

Romance - 11
Sentimental - 16
Drama - Serious - 18
Action - 22
Comedy/Fun - 16

All in all, a reasonable distributions so it should be quite fair to everyone...

A List of finalists will be posted a week before the con
