Another 'O Fortuna' question
Well, no time like the present...

Is the information for this video accurate? The video uses the version I want, but I want to make sure it's by Apocalyptica before I order anything.

Checking the band's official discography, no version of O Fortuna is listed on any live or studio record. You may want to look at Corvus Corax to see if it's their version; it's the first track on their version of the full Carmina Burana. I think Therion did a take of this a few years ago as well, but from personal prejudice I would advise against anyone supporting Therion...and Corvus Corax is better.

Shin Hatsubai is a Premiere-free studio. Insomni-Ack is habitually worthless.

Everything they've done since (and possibly including) Vovin is wrong with Therion. At least.Iamshadowkiller wrote:wait what's wrong with therion;_;

Corvus Corax seems likely, as the mp3 I downloaded way back when (attributed to Carl Orff, natch) had the next song on it... In Fortune Solio? I got rid of that bit a while back. They sound about right too, from the media clip I found on the site. I ordered the CD anyway, because they seem interesting.Kai Stromler wrote:You may want to look at Corvus Corax to see if it's their version; it's the first track on their version of the full Carmina Burana. I know it's not Therion's. I have part of that one, and it's nowhere near smooth enough. *checks their discography* ...I have the last two. Oh well.
If you're still here, I have question about one of the comments on your rec list.
It reminded me more of Iced Earth (c. Something Wicked This Way Comes) than In Flames. What kind of In Flames were you thinking of?dcdeveloperx - When Darkness Falls [Killswitch Engage/Soultaker]
.... At times it sounds a little too much like an In Flames song, but that's hardly the video's fault......and it's not the sucky kind of In Flames either, so all is cool.

It's been a while since I've actually seen/heard the video, but if I remember correctly it felt like Whoracle- to Clayman-vintage. If I get some downtime today I'll re-download it and check on this, though.Melanchthon wrote:It reminded me more of Iced Earth (c. Something Wicked This Way Comes) than In Flames. Thanks. Whoracle I quite like (though I prefer Colony), but I managed to listen to Clayman twice before accepting that I wasn't going to like it and then consigning it to its case. I might dig it out again though, to see if my tastes have shifted. It has happened.Kai Stromler wrote:It's been a while since I've actually seen/heard the video, but if I remember correctly it felt like Whoracle- to Clayman-vintage.
