AMV Creator vs Forum Presence

I've met alot of 'major' AMV creators, and then there are those creators who are 'big' on the forums. Some times I look at a name and want to remind myself what 'big' videos the person has made (and to remember if I met them or not), only to find out that despite a large forum presence, they don't have any videos I've heard of. Does anyone else find this happening, and abit interesting?

But when im at home i would rather spend my time making videos then talking about them just a personal preference

They aren't mutually exclusive. Right now I'm reading the forums while a text export processes in the background. I am editing AAAAAND posting, like magic.

An IRC room might take up more attention and time, maybe, but I still don't think they're mutually exclusive. You can probably minimize that and edit at the same time, too. Come on, we're the MTV generation here; we can't do one thing at a time.

The questions - Are they there because they frequent the forums? Or do they frequent the forums because they're there? :!:

It seems pretty simple to me. If you make good videos, you probably care about amvs, enough to put hard work and effort into them. If you care about amvs, you are likely to want to be involved in the community.

Or, well, you could be amazingly good at video editing (hence, make good videos) and despise the AMV community for being an in-fighting ragtag band of amateurs acting under some grandiose assumptions that they are ARTISTS whose creative SOULS have been ENABLED by the PROLIFERATION of DIGITAL MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES; and, therefore, they are PIONEERS of REMIXED CULTURE and shall be the metaphorical OPENING SALVO in the SECOND BATTLE for a culture that is FREE for REINTERPRETATION by the COMMONS.

(Come on, I know you know someone like that.)

In that case, that whole argument falls apart pretty quickly.
