Viewing the number of each star rating?

Post by Melanchthon » Fri May 19, 2006 4:11 pm

I can see the average rating, but not how many 2s, 3s, 4s, etc. Is there a link that I keep missing somewhere?

No, but it would be interesting to see. You can see how much bandwidth your video uses here.

Unless I'm wrong and its another unseen site feature.

I don't think it's a feature, although i really don't see what benifit it woudl provide, since there's a raw and an average that does something (i'd like to know exactly what) that makes a "more acurate" representation of your scores.

So on that related note, what exactly is the bit of math done to compute the average star score? Do we discount the value of people that always give 1s or 5s? Or is it something more simple?

Do a forum search on 'Bayesian'. I think it's supposed to be a prediction of what the star score will be once more people have given it ratings.

As for why... well, idle curiosity about my own vids (ie. has anyone given me a 1 yet?) is one reason. Another is potential downloads-- a 'love it or hate it' vid is going to get a similar average to a middle-of-the-road vid, but I know which one I'd rather watch.

People who give only 1s and 5s are discounted, but there are very few people this applies to.
