working with Dubbed material

k I'm attempting to do something unorthodox for most AMVs, I'm attempting to use samples of the dubbed audio source from my anime of choice.

I'm taking audio clips of actors talking and adding them into my video. The problem is some of the audio samples i wish to use have music in the background, i need to be able to eliminate the music in the background and only have the voices that are talking to be dominant. Is there any way i can do this.

The audio clips i have are wav files, i took them from an ogg track i extracted from mkv files. If needed i do have the dvds but i would like to use them as a last resort, ripping dvds is always a pain in the ass for me

If by any chance your audio source is in a 5.1 surround sound format, there's a chance you'll be able to extract the vocals only (it could be found in the center channel; I know mine is there when I extracted them from my CCS Movie 2 DVD). BeSweet does wonders with that. If it's stereo......well that's a bit more difficult.

I got my sources from a friend, but if i need to I will buy the actual box set. Would this box set be sufficeint for what i need to do, will it provide me with the 5.1 you're referring to?

Most of the middle to middle-upper range is where vocals usually are. Try turning those up and the rest down first, although results will vary. Just tweak around with your equilizer untill you get it to the point that the output is satisfactory.

I'm just going to locate the dvds i need, because the best i was about to do was eliminate most of the music with Audacity but the voice would sound shitty after(almost ear piercing)
