Anime North 2006 Post-Awards Party

Post by Initial B » Wed May 17, 2006 7:35 am

Once again, the Anime North AMV competition has been moved back to Friday night. So once the awards are handed out, there will be a post awards party for the creators (who can bring a friend if they wish) at a location to be determined by Programming from 11pm to whenever.

Thanks to all the entrants for their submissions. I can truly say that this year's competition is the highest quality yet.

Don't worry, guy, even if that's true, it still wouldn't apply to you... :/

Last year it was just for any AMV creators. Then again, last year the awards were announced during the Saturday showing :|
Still, I'm sure it'll work the same way this time around. Either way.. I'll be there! :P
PS. Is there still going to be a saturday showing then, if the awards have already been given out?

From the AN board:
Initial B wrote:Iczer eh is probably the best one to answer this, but this is what I know of the rough details.

It looks like we are showing the exhibition and challenge videos on Thursday night as part of the pre-reg events.

Friday night will be the finalists showing and awards presentation from 9pm to 11pm with the post-awards party immediately following.

Saturday morning we will show the non-finalist entries in the open and Novice Categories, probably from 9am to 12 noon.

The 10th Anniversary AMV Poll Top 20 countdown will happen from about 5pm to 7pm Saturday Afternoon.

Then sometime Sunday we will repeat the finalists (definite) and all the other videos from the open, novice, challenge, and exhibition categories if scheduling permits.

From what I've heard it'll be the same as the two previous years. All creators who entered an amv into the comp will be allowed to come and can bring a friend.

Mikestrife is correct. Any creator who entered a video in the competition can bring themselves and a friend to the party. It's up to the whims of programming where will will be holding it, though.

Unfortunately, due to an imminent expected birth in my family, I will not be attending AN this year. My assistant AVMC Coordinator will be covering for me at the Con, handing out the awards and organizing most of the food, etc. She will also be taking over for me next year, so pick her brains and provide input into the challenge for next year.

Now I've got to get back to write-ups for the winners and honourable mentions...
