100 MB upload

Post by Animegamer100 » Sat May 13, 2006 8:54 am

I had requested a 100MB upload almost two weeks ago, I was just wondering how long it usually takes for them to tell me if I can upload it or not.

It usually has to do with things like:

1) The length of the video - is it more than 5 minuts long?
2) Did you compress the audio?
3) What's the resolution?

If the answer to either 1 or 2 is no, you don't need this service and have the right to be ignored. If it is a large video with properly compressed audio and a decent resolution, your problem will most likely be noticed by this thread and someone will do something about it.

At that resolution, there's no good reason for you to need an oversize download. Just compress it better and you won't have an issue.

When I made it at a lower resolution, the quality was really bad and it made the video really hard to watch. Also, I felt it insulted the original video.

I have a couple of questions.

What codec are you using to compress the video? Some codecs do a better job of compression without sacrificing a great deal of quality than others.

And did you make sure you compressed the audio? This can make a BIG difference in filesize. Don't ingore this step.

Ok, I really don't know. I never really checked. All I usually do is go to the make movie part of Pinicle Stuio 9 and select either to make it an avi file or mpeg file. If any of you could tell me how to compress it, I'd really like to know.

Ok, I just tries adjusting the settings, but the only ones that are under 100Mb are files that just look and sound god awful, changing around the audio and video settings while keeping them at a good quality just doesn't get it under 100 MB, it's closer, but just not close enough.

Try cleaning the footage well first. That can work miracles.
