No video in Adobe Premiere

Post by Uruz 7 » Wed Apr 12, 2006 3:17 am

I cna't seem to get most video to work in Adobe Premiere. They load fine without error and play fine in the upper left hand corner but the monitor does not display video at all. I've played around with most of the settings but can't get it to play. I have tried many videos of many formats and have only had one play fine in the monitor window. The video that played fine was a Windows Meda file from http://dl.tv in case that helps.

some formats and codec arn't good for editing so convert them to an editable codec like huffyuv or lagarith.

Thanks for the tip. I tried re encoding a few times but wasn't sure what codecs were good to use for this purpose. The trouble is finding encoders to work under Linux as all my media is sitting on an XFS formatted partition. I've been burning to DVDs to move to Windows but it's a pain. Going to try to create a FAT32 partition for transfering back and forth. Again, thanks for tip.

Oh and do you know of any good software to re encode to one of the aforementioned codecs?

Virtual Dub Mod Is a great encoding program. You should also consider reading The Guide

Before asking, THINK!!! Have you read The Guides, consulted The Wiki and watched The Corn?
