About motion in premiere 6.5

When you click on motion, that window in the image above comes up and usually the clip should be moving from left to right on default. However in the above screenie the "motion" window, when i open it up theirs no motion. Its not moving anywhere, if i try using zoom it does nothing. The only thing that i can think of that possibly could be the problem is that the actual clip itself is too short maybe? Cause i did the exact same thing earlier on the timeline and it worked just fine, but the clip was abit more bigger thats all.

It looks like you've selected a clip in track 3, but you've got something over it in track 4 that, I would assume, is not moving. You're selected clip in T3 is moving, it's just being covered up by the clip in T4. Move that clip and you should be able to see the motion in your preview window. Good luck.

yeh thats what im thinking..

This is a picture some where earlier in my timeline of the project. As you can see the clips are just abit bigger than the previous screenie.

This is the effect im trying to get goin with the use of motion on the clips on the first screen shot. Note: the grey is meant to be zooming out towards the viewer

I guess you're trying to do a zoom-out overlay like in the picture. So, instead of using motion controls, you could just drop in a Transform from the Video Effects tab. There you can key the scale and position. Be sure to add a keyed gaussian blur because without it you'll have jagged lines/edges/pixelation. I used this technique quite a few times with very good results. :D
