Hello!
I'm the special events coordinator for Otafest, the annual Japanese Animation Festival held in Calgary, AB, Canada. Otafest 2006 will be held on May 21-22, 2005 at the University of Calgary!
This will be our 3rd contest, and last year, thanks in part to all of your AMVs, we managed to attract approximately 3000 folks to our little festival!
Currently, we are looking for any AMVs made after May 2005.

Please read the rules before entering the contest!
Entry into the contest is very simple! To enter into the contest, please send an email to: Jenny Chan: special-events@otafest.com
Please provide the following information in the email:
1) Your name or your studio’s name
2) The AMV’s information
a. The name of your video(s)
b. The name of the series from which you are drawing your visual material
c. The name of the song you are using, as well as the original artist
3) Please state whether or not your entry has been submitted to other contest
4) A link to where your video can be downloaded.
Entry deadline is April 30th. Please have your email sent by April 30th.

Well, our contest doesn't really have any technical rules - I review the entry as soon as I've downloaded it and if it there's any problem with it, in that it doesn't play correctly, then I email the creator right away to ask for which codex are needed, etc.JudgeHolden wrote:You might want to post the Techie stuff too ... format, bumpers, and so on.
Because of this, format isn't usually a problem.
We don't have any preferred resolution or frame rates either. If time permits, we *may* recode videos, although, at this time, that seems rather unlikely. So, the video you send, will be played, as is.
Bumpers and credits are most definitely allowed - generally speaking, your video, as you send it, will be shown as is.
