How do i get the sound off the video

Like i have the music and i have the show.....except the sounds from the show are going over the music......

so....

Question is: How do i get the sound off of the video?

*sry if this is a noob question

What program are you using for editing? If it is Windows Movie Maker 2, then click on the little button to the far left of the screen just above the Storyline/Timeline and move the slider to the Music side.
