Actually quality is artistic. Protecting art is artistic and technical. (Though you can get around all of the formats if you try.) Higher frame rates can give smoother more artistic looks.

Just as well the definition of the word ART is highly debated. In the most general terms it is anything done with a passionate feeling, but how do you define a feeling. See the dilemma.

As for you Kaluim, perhaps you should contribute for you condescend. It makes you seem like an ass.

That said, Videora seems interesting. If had a desire to buy an Ipod I would test it to see if it drops frames or anything, but I prefer CDs. Watch it carefully to make sure it does not distort the video or unsync the audio. Some convertors will do that because they assume general settings on the Input.

Purposely degrading quality when you know perfectly well how to easily get something better is artistic. Like use of black and white film when color film is availible. When someone has no idea that they can do better, then it's a technical choice. Framerate is a purely technical choice, unfortunately for you. We could all be editing at 200-some FPS, but there would be so many duplicate frames that it would be pointless. This is a case of artistic expression being limited by technology. This does not render the technical decision an artistic one.

Oh, and don't haul McLuhan out on me. He was full of it.

Nevermind the issue of higher framerates yielding "more artistic looks". All a higher framerate does is broaden the content choices an artist can make.

I'm going to assume that was addressed to me. I'm also going to assume that you meant to be incoherent.

A word of warning, HeavyMetal: you might want to stop your trolling. It's likely to get you in trouble.

Yeah, I think that was directed at you. I think it was supposed to read something like

I don't know. Nor do I really care all that much.

Point remains that I said a way to solve this thread's issue. You just popped up to be hateful. Who the hell is trolling? I just like to help out new people so maybe I can see a good vid later.

Anyway posting just to bitch is not worth my time. I forgot to type something earlier.

I forgot to give the damn code line for a direct show call. Sorry about that gadimus. So here it is:

DirectShowSource(location\name, fps=#)

If it does not work then check their website. Make sure you have direct show installed as well. I should have thought to say that.

I always forget something, kills me in programming.
