Ripple Effect
I'm trying to achieve a certain effect. I'm not sure how to explain it but the effect I want is to achieve a ripple that looks like a rock has been dropped in a water and the ripples go forward in a circular format.
I'll try to find a screeny in which I can explain better the effect I'm trying to achieve. I can't ever do it on Adobe Photoshop or After Effects (Well FOR NOW!!!!)

If my memory is right, there is the ripple effect in adobe premiere pro, if u dont have it download the trial . if you dont use adobe premiere, u could always just do taht part that you need in adobe premiere then export it out a lossless codec.
hope this helps

O Wow, my apologies, thats a really stupid ripple effect lol
(the one in primere)
hmm no idea..i mean im assuming youd want it to move.
is there a way to do a mask that burns/dodges? and then animate that mask to expand outward? could try that if it's possible to do that...

Ulead's PhotoImpact has a built-in animation studio that includes something like this. But it's a picture editor, so it won't work with a video clip.
If you can live with that, there's a trial version for the software. Try the droplet effect in the animation studio menu. (There's a ripple effect, too, but it might have more impact than you want.) Once the parameters are set, you can export the animation to a series of BMP files to import into Premiere.

Im not 100% on this but i think that screen is the Ripple (circular) in premiere pro... The one im talking about is under 'GPU effects'... There is another 'ripple' under 'distort' which doesn't do the same thing. The one in the screen shot looks like its a seperate layer of black, with the light up close and on an angle.

I actually did manage to fake the effect a bit, i messed around with the ripple effects (angle of axis etc) then made that on a seperate layer and had the normal version of the video on a layer and just used transparency to show it. It somewhat did displacement, im just an amature at video editing so im sure there is someway to work it better witht the effects. APP 1.5 btw
also like i said i faked it, so it only somewhat works
hope this helps
