1. what exactly do they do?

k well lets see, i think its used for exporting any file u play on like WMP (or segments of it) into a format that cn be imported into premiere or something to be edited...am i right :?:

A capture card allows you to take what's being output to a TV and save it on your computer. With the advent of DVD drives, they're usefullness has become marginalized. However, if your source is VHS and you want to edit digitally, it may be an option. This is rare, given the prevalence of DVDs.

So basically, it's an outdated and seldom-used technology except in certain, rather spicific circumstances. Or rather, it should be given the advancement of technology from, say, 5-8 years ago.

ty bashar,

im tryin to work with some downloaded bleach footage and i cant import it into premiere, do i need a capture card to do it?

Wait, let me rephrase that.

Since i can't import downloaded footage like bleach or naruto into adobe premiere directly, how do i go about it?

Heh. I'd like to see someone take downloaded anime, use video out from one computer to play it into another computer, capture it and edit with that. XD XD

Why? Cuz im downloading footage?
The episodes i need arent out on DVD so what's the prob?
