sound help pls

this is my first vid and im using windows movie maker to make it but i want to mute the sound of the charecters talking in the clip then add my own music. but i cant mute the cideo without muteing my music. im new to this so i dont know much. help me pls

In tools>audio levels

Move the slider towards the audio/music end

Just so you know there's more than one way to skin a cat, (as there always is with Win programs), you can right-click on the audio and choose mute also.

no. the music came intagrated with the video. im trying to mute the sounds that come with the video and add a new on instead

Right, so mute the audio track (the track in which the videos audio is contained) and put your music in the audio/music track below it. Follow Purge's instructions if it's easier for you.

how do i mute the adio track. it doesnt show it. it only shows the vid clips with a speaker sighn on each of the clips.
