Weird Audio Problem with WMM

Post by Master O » Wed Feb 01, 2006 10:45 am

I'm trying to make an AMV, but when I export the combined audio and video out of Windows Movie Maker, the sound gets distorted when I compress it to Xvid. The sound has hissing and crackling in it.

The mp3 I'm using plays fine in Winamp and every else outside of WMM.

There is an option in WMM that tells you what codecs it uses to render audio and video. Should I start disabling some of them to see if this will fix the problem?

((Also, I don't have any other movie editing software and don't have acess to anything else but WMM, so please don't suggest it.))

One thing to try would be converting your MP3 into WAV, and put the WAV file into your WMM project instead. You can use CDex to convert it, it's really simple. If doing that doesn't solve the issue, tell me what settings you're using to export your video. Good luck.

I would do what gangstaj8 said but instead of rerendering in WMM - just go and encode to XVid in VDUB and just use the vitual dub options to select the wav file.
