I myself am quite pleased with the contest, and not just because my video won it's category either. The videos that made finalist were great in their own aspects and overall the bar you had to jump to win was high.

Your videos shall become part of my collection, the assimilation process will be quite harmless I assure you. Resistance is futile.

Congratulations on the win. I pretty much knew from the get-go that you would win the category (jeez those dancing icons are just so darn CUTE! hee) and I'm kinda glad you gave me a run for my money.

Again, the finalists' videos this year were a great step up in quality all across the board. Despite the problems, you pulled out a great contest, Vic. Great job, Vic, and congratulations to the winners. :)

If you didn't vote, you can't complain!

Well, actually you can. Historically Ohayocon has been a cosplay-con, and the AMV contest struggled to fill 2 hours. This year even with the un-prime-time scheduling, the record attendance and submissions convinced the higher-ups that there is now a strong AMV presence at Ohayocon and in addition to better screening time, we are already discussing some VERY unique and cool options for next year's contest.

BTW, what AMV creators actually came to Ohayocon? Aside from staff, I only saw NG silver personally the entire weekend. It's like ya'll were hiding from me! *sniff* and I even wore the good deodorant!

Thanks to everyone who submitted this year, and congrats to the winners. And now, time for a nap. Who's in? ;)

I wasn't able to attend the contest (was very busy doing GR stuff), but it looks like a good group of winners this year. So, right on :-o

I knew I was close, and it looks like I remembered the 2 winning videos, I just got some of them mixed up because my mind was telling me my picks, not the actual winers.

I was actually quite supprised that the contest got the attendance that it did during the times it was shown. But I'm very happy it did as well, as there were more people there for me to get a better reaction to my video. You did a great job with everything and I can't wait to enter the contest next year. I serriously understand what it's like having to fight cosplay for time and rooms. Youmacon despite being a 1st year convention, was VERY cosplay orientated because the majority of it's big wig staff were cosplayers. It wasn't until I showed up and adimitly faught with them that there was even an AMV presence at the con. Cosplay and AMVs are two parts of the fandom that are extrememly popular, and AMV popularity is constantly growing it would seem.

If you all are looking for someone to run an Iron Editor event at the convention next year, I'm up for the challenge. I ran a successful competition at Youmacon, despite the technical difficulties, and plan on bringing my brand of IE to a few more conventions this year.

You know, I had no clue what you looked like, so I really had nothing to go on when seeking you out. I was all over that convention center all weekend. I'm quite sure at some point everyone had gotten a glimpse of the nat-chan ^^

Omar and I are the people in charge of the official Iron Editor and we have no plans to bring it to any other conventions aside from Acen, Otakon, AWA and AUSA at this time.
