I have tried to get this video uploaded for a while now...
Its 118Mb, which of course, is too big for your standard upload. I have however gone through the proper channels of requesting special permission for the big file, but nothing has come of it. I have tried this three times and I get more confuse everytime I do it. I went ahead and uploaded the vid, and of course, pancake doesnt see it. i get this error..
directory empty at /usr/local/sbin/Pancake line 150, <FH> line 17
The video im talking about is my "End of Evangelion - Schism" AMV. Its listed in my profile.
Anyways, i guess i want to request permission for the big file, and see what can be done about possibly getting it up on the site. Its a great video that I feel will be well recieved.
Thanks for your help! I appologize for pulling you guys away to deal with this, but I am at my wits end! Again, thanks in advance!

Unless this is a large MEP and/or a video over something like 20 minutes in length, it shouldn't be over 100MB and most likely won't be allowed an exception upload slot.
If it is one of the above types of videos, keep tring to contact the staff, if not, learn how to compress better.

There's a reason why we have this.damagicninja wrote:well - i am a bit of a beginner i guess... its a 7:39 long vid, at 2.1mbps bitrate as a WMV. Its 118mb. Any pointers for compression?
One pointer: 2.1 megabits a second is overkill, especially when one can achieve encodes that look very close to the original at 500-600 kbps with AVC implementations.
Implication: Stop using WMV. It's shit, and the only thing that can (legally) play it back is Windows.
