I edited my amv with Arcsoft Showbiz. How do I convert it into a DVD friendly format? How do I convert it into mpeg?

I know Showbiz can burn onto DVDs, but the comp I made it on does not have a burner so I need to be able to transfer it (in a DVD friendly format) to my other comp that does.

So wait, it can burn straight to DVD, right? If so then it will just do the conversion for you most likely.

I don't know Arcsoft Showbiz, but the most programs allow to save a DVD into a folder instead burning it on a DVD. That way you can transfer it to another computer which has a DVD burner. Simply burn the contents of the folder as is on the DVD.

^-^;; Sadly I tried that last night.

I loaded Arcsoft Showbiz onto the comp with burning capabilities and then loaded my Arcsoft Showbiz project to the comp, but the Arcsoft Showbiz on the burning comp is refusing to recognize it.

The message comes up,

"Cannot find file. Do you want to re-link the file?"

I'd really hate to have to redo the entire amv on this comp, so if there is any more advice you could give me I'd be thrilled. ^-^

Maybe I loaded it incorrectly...?

Did you load just the project file (probably just a couple KB) or all the source files as well? Most project files on modern editing systems are just XML (or similar) documents consisting of a list of source files for each clip with settings for mark in/out points and effects to be applied. If you put all your source files on the new computer in the same path (C:\some directory\whatever\project) as on the original, the editing environment should be able to read the project file correctly and re-assemble the video.

I wasn't talking about transfering the whole project from one comp to another, because including the source files it'll be incredibly hughe.

What I meant is: In the menu where you can burn the vid to a DVD, you should be able to select the harddrive as destination instead. In your destination folder it'll create two folders, AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. AUDIO_TS should be empty, VIDEO_TS should contain several files with the suffixes .ifo, .bup, .vob. These two folders you transfer to the comp with the DVD burner. Then you use the burning programm which came with the DVD burner (most likely Nero or WinOnCD) and burn these two folders on a data DVD. Make sure you finalize the DVD.

If Arcsoft Showbiz doesn't allow you to choose the HDD as destination for a DVD, check if there is an option to make a test burn. That way it will create the complete DVD on your harddrive too.
