Programs?

Post by Wolfun » Mon Nov 07, 2005 7:51 am

I was watching several AMV's, and me and my friend started to discuss what programs could be used. We kinda came up empty :/ ('cept for flash) so what do you (if you make them) use?

any type of video editing program can be used, doesn't matter. well, it does. it all depends on how the program works with what you want to do with it. Windows Movie Maker (free) is a great beginer's editor. it's simple and you can learn the basics of editing. but again, its simple and therfore limited. If you want a decent program that can do a lot for a cheap price, get one of the Magix programs (Movie Edit Pro or Video Deluxe: each about $50 each). Of course, if you want something more "professional" you could go for Premiere or Vegas (couple hundred $$$). Of course these are for the Windows enviorment. For linux, there is Cinelerra (free) and for Macs you can use iMovie (free, i think)and Final Cut Pro (or express(couple hundred).

Advice would be to do some research and download trial versions and play with those, then decided which one you want to use.

hope that helps...

PS: there is no "best" program. though some will tell you it's premiere or vegas... it's all preference. i for one like premiere over an other programs becuase it fits my way of editing while others like Vegas, WMM or FCP more.

It's quite evident that you have no idea what you're talking about.

ffmpeg is a system for recording, playing, converting, and streaming video. It is NOT meant for nonlinear editing.

Use Windows Paint to make the image sequence, some image editor (like Irfanview) to display it in a slideshow, and an audio playback program (Winamp works OK) for the sound.

Make sure it all matches, because you don't want to look like a fool.

Two. We're getting binary.
