What kind of AMVs do you like to make?

I'm partial to making bouncy, fast-paced videos. Considering that I love magical girl anime, it's not surprising. I use footage from my favorite series, and magical girl shows tend to be rather cute, light-hearted affairs. I've done a sentimental AMV, but it was harder to finish, and I don't rewatch it as much as my other ones.

Depending on my mood, or what little inspiration hits, that's what I'll make. If other people like it, that's cool. If not... meh. Feedback is great, and I have learned a lot from all that I've received, but I'm doing this for fun.

I like to watch Comedy vids the most.. funny things that are silly corney and sometimes cheezy... but not "heart transition" cheezy... keep your transitions non-heart and its all good...

but for the most part thats what I like to make as well... comedy... that usually ends up being "cheese for cheese"

or just really corney lyric sync (in a funny way)

funny though

my top few favorite videos are drama/sentimental... I just feel like I suck at making those. Though my "dramatic" videos seem to be more popular than my funny ones...

ah well

I also like trying to expand into several directions...

I seem to make vids that are considered "trippy" by people who've probably never taken a hallucinogenic substance in their lives.

I like making original vids that arent actualy much other than generic moody fluff (well edited fluff) edited to a song that most people here would otherwise never hear.

I hate making fun videos. Tried to make one, but now looking back it was just not the thing I wanted to express. Another bad pint about fun vids for me is that a lot of the new ones use Azumanga. Nothing against the series, but it just sucks to see Azu in every new fun amv. Just as said videos with a thought behind them (plot expressed by scene-usage) are the best. It may seem to some kinda old-school, however that'S my favorite so far

i like to do action/drama i also like to do vids with lots of effects in them^^

Crappy quality and editing are not "effects."
Nor are subtitles, or pop-frames. I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you captured the AS footage and just need to learn how to compress footage.
