Youmacon 2005 AMV Contest Deadline has passed

The following are the rules for the Youmacon 2005 AMV contest. These rules can also be found on the Youmacon Forums as well as the Youmacon Website. You can access those here.

Please post any questions you have reguarding the rules either here, on the Youmacon Forums, or PM me.

Guidelines
  • * Up to two (2) entries may be submitted per person.
    * Entries must be less than six (6) minutes in length.
    * Entries with excessive violence, sexual content, or explicit language are not permitted.
    * Bumpers and/or credits should be either minimal or not included.
    * Entries must contain primarily anime footage.
    * Entries that have won an award at other conventions may be submitted for screening, but will not be judged.
    * Entries may be submitted by staff for screening, but are only eligible for the Staff award.

Submitting Entries
  • Entries must be received by October 21, 2005.
    Application
    • Fill out the following information in a text file for FTP submissions or on paper for mail submissions. Personal information will not be distributed.
      • First/Last Name:
        Name to Be Used in Credits:
        Studio (if applicable):
        Video Title:
        Category (if you want it judged for anything besides Grand Prize; choose from Comedy, Drama, Action. Staff competing should put Staff here.):
        Title(s) of Anime Source(s):
        Are you part of Youmacon staff?:
        Song Title:
        Song Artist:
        Address:
        Phone Number:
        E-Mail Address:
      Entries that do not include this information will be disqualified.
FTP
  • Entries may be uploaded to the following FTP server:
    • Server: youmaconamv.serveftp.com
      Port: 169
      User: AMV_Contest
      Pass: 962KsAZh
* Upload the above application in a text file with the a title that is similar to the video file name.
* Any issues relating to the FTP should be directed at iceman.f1@gmail.com .

Mail
  • Entries may be submitted on a data CD-R, data DVD-R, DVD-R, or VHS by mail to:
    • Attn: Youmacon AMV Contest

* Include the above application with your submission.
* Entries submitted on physical media become the property of Youmacon and will not be returned.

* Submitting a video and application gives Youmacon authorization to screen it during our anime music video contest screenings.

Judging
  • * Awards will be given for Comedy, Drama, Action, Grand Prize, and Staff, provided that each category receives an ample amount of entries.
    * Entries will be screened and judged before the convention.
    * The video programming and AMV contest coordinators will choose a judging panel of two (2) creators and two (2) non-creators. Only the non-creators will choose the Staff award.
    * Entrants may win only one award.
    * To accept awards and/or prizes, entrants must be present or have a designated proxy at the convention to pick up their award.

The deadline is fast approaching for the contest. Next Friday is the deadline (October 21st) for getting your videos in. Don't forget that any videos recieved after that point will not be accepted.

I entered my Lust Lives A Lie yesterday. Did it upload? 'Cause it showed me some sort of error, but it finished anyway, so I'm not sure... heh

if the video is suppose to end with a really weird fade at the end as the song is shifting from one to another then yes, it uploaded fine. (there was even black space after the fade)


Also, for those REALLY waiting until the last minute. You have until 3AM Eastern to begin your upload. After that point the FTP account will be deleted and no other videos will be allowed to enter. (the ONLY exception is if there is a problem with your video and this will be handeled on a per video basis)
