Eh? College, or more formally in here, University is all about self reliance and discovering knowledge through your own methods. I do pay exorbitant amounts of money to get my education but the emphasis here is all about getting what YOU wanted out of it. Nobody forces you to attend lectures, nobody tells you that you have to hand in that assignment. Of course if you don't do any of them, you're just getting into your student debts for no reason.

At the end of it all though, whatever you end up learning is exactly what you put into it. Spoonfeeding is definitely not the way Higher Learning is meant to be.

I guess that should apply for something as simple as reading the front page of a website too.

the journal section is like any other blogging site... cept the fancy controlls stuff that say livejournal might have... or even myspace...

either way, you post stuff on there, whatever you want, and maybe one of the psychotic journal junkies (ie someone like myself) might start replying to you in their journal.... so it might help to become a psychotic journal junkie yourself and read all the new entries as you see them... eventually you might find someone you like reading and add them to your journal buddy list...

or in the case of several people *caugh* I tend to "journal buddy" them just so I can know the latest drama / roumers / insanity that is "hot topic" or going around this place..

the "new entries" show up in a box on the right side of the main members page... under the banner ad contest I believe...

either way, keep clicking links on this site and you will eventually figure out how it works... it appears you got to the forums alright.. :D

The only useful reply on my question... thanks. I hadn't noticed the "new entries" links. I'll try to do my best looking for answers myself.

I'm giving you the best information you could use. If you think I'm being tough its because I have to be in order to stress how important it is to learn to think for yourself, not just for this site but for the rest of your life. You woent get anywhere unless you start thinking for yourself and thinking that I'm just being an asshole and ignoring what I'm trying to tell you is childish. Yes I could use a nicer tone, and I have before but it didnt do any good.

Constantly asking questions is not "spoonfeeding". If you don't understand something, ask questions.

Constantly asking questions can still end up being annoying... and if your teacher/lecturer/demonstrator responds to your every whim, then indeed this is spoonfeeding...

Look, I understand what you mean, and I'm not saying you are wrong at all. But in the context of the argument we are having here, which is that the questions being asked didn't necesarily need to be stated (ie. they could have been figured out after a couple of clicks and use of the eyes), I just have to stick to what I already said...
