Nominations?

Post by [Mike of the Desert] » Thu Sep 29, 2005 12:37 pm

Yes, "sadly" this is another question about the Studios. I was not sure to put in on "Site Help", so here I am.

It's a lot of time that I ask to myself.. How it works for people to enter into a studio? I have a Studio, with some other people that helped into the creation of the same, but, to make "enter" more people, (Only theorically) would be fine to create Nominations, "contests", rules, or exams? :? Just wondering myself this. :o

Hrm. Since BMA is a one man show, I've never given thought to entrance requirements. Do what you feel best. If you want a studio full of top notch editors, put in some sort of 'editing test'. But to me, studios are usually more a group of friends (whether real life, Internet, or a combination) who just call themselves a 'studio' for the camraderie rather than for some sort of gain (except for things like video hosting...having a studio full of people chipping in on webhosting is nice). In fact, if you really want to go the 'studio as production house' route it would be best to be geographically concentrated in a similar area, because online collaboration still isn't quite up to the level of real sitting down together at computers collaboration. Shining Finger Studios and to an extent Chaotic Bad Raptor (just to name two groups I know of) demonstrate this.
Life's short.

Since studios are completely made up, you can do literally anything you want.
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

Thanks really a lot to everyone for the feedback, I got the answers I was searching for. :D Yes it's true badmartialarts, online collaboration is not comparable to sitting down together at computers. I perfectly understand what you mean. :P And I generally quote you also about the creation and the purpose of a studio, this is usually what I saw around here, as I said, mine was a question about something in theory. Anyway, thanks to everyone for the tempestive answers. :)

Not to say that it's never happened, but I've personally never heard of any studio "auditioning" members or whatever. A studio is just a group of friends who make videos and release them under a common name.

It's like people want to relate AMV studios to gaming clans/guilds or something o_O...

Have we all forgotten the Destination Skyline experiment (most of 2004 for those who missed it) so soon? :P

(It wasn't quite "auditioning", but the concept was a lot closer than most...)
