I was thinking about a lot of the bands that I like e.g. Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen, Oasis...G'N'R bah anyway then I thought it would be interesting to see who people think will be remembered in 10...20 or so years time from now.
Although I don't particulary like their music I can see Coldplay still being looked as good in the future. Also, I think once the Red Hot Chili Peppers stop making music they'll go straight into the legends catergory (if they aren't there already). Even though, I really don't think a lot of modern music has the depth, talent and gob-smack factor that a lot of older music has.
And finally, please don't post stupid posts along the lines of MCR RULZ THEY R BEST EVAR.

Tupac's death has seemed to only extend his music's life and people will be listening to him for a while yet. Linkin Park will go the distance if there next album is different enough from thier previos, while still retaining a similar feel. Reanimation was awsome and prety out their, but Meteora, while damn good was too similar to Hybrid Theory. In 20 years old school metal fans will be obsessed with Dream Theatre.
