i use dvd footage..i can't stand the CRAPPY quality of some of the subs out there..plus people can tell...

And conventions pay a whole lot of money to the anime and music companies to license the showing of AMVs, so it's perhaps the one 'legal' venue for them (although, according to the DMCA, it's illegal just to begin the process of making an AMV, as that law makes it illegal to 'rip' CDs and DVDs).

I just download DVD decrpyt like 2 days ago and it worked for me :D

XviD is illegal too, but I can't be bothered to go into detail. It boils down to software patents and intellectual property.

and Kuja, that sig is way too huge, read the forum rules and save the mods a job :)
