How do you play videos?

Ok for the past hour or something I have been trying to find out how you download videos or just how to get them to play because I always search a video and it gives me the name of it, the author, the catagorey, etc. but it doesn't show me how to actually play it and if I click on the name or title it gives me more information, but still doesn't show me how to play it! PLEASE HELP ME BEFORE I GO INSANE!
