It'd help if you could describe your issues with some more detail.

First off, I'm pretty sure that none of these programs are fundamentally broken: every program I have listed runs on my Gentoo systems, and I use them frequently. Secondly, I used to run a Debian system with Cinelerra and many other video tools. So I'm pretty sure that all of these tools will work on Ubuntu, since that's a Debian derivative.

What specific errors are you getting? Please be precise. Provide pertinent error dumps.

updates

No idea how I missed these, but check them out anyway:

The Garbure project

This project aims to develop a series of GNU/Linux systems aimed towards specific purposes, most of which are multimedia-related. The most pertinent one is phở, but there are others that may be interesting, such as burek (for AMV contest organizers, perhaps).

Also, Blender 2.37 was recently released. Its release notes and bugfixes are available for you to read. Enjoy; there's quite a bit of stuff in there.

Finally, ardour is at v0.9, beta29, and is really kicking ass.

Inkscape v.42 is out:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/inkscape/

This is a major release; see http://www.inkscape.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?ReleaseNotes042 for details. If you've been looking for a way to add vector graphics to a video, give Inkscape a try.

Are there any non-video-quality-degrading "free" effect plugins for adobe premier? I'm specifically looking for a shatter effect, and to maintain vid quality, i dont wanna run it through multiple editors. (the website for jashaka wouldnt open on my browser... i'll try agian tomorrow)

Post by Geminibabe » Sun Aug 07, 2005 2:33 pm

I've read almost every thread there except about 4. But I still have no idea what it is that you guys are talking about.
Srry I may seem like a N00b. Um but I wanted to know what would be the best software to put two different, or the same video together. if you dont know what I mean, check out Aluminum's Sailor Mars Dreams of Red
something just like that. If that doesn put it right the PLEASE PLEASE reply and ask for another example. :!:
