Oversynching: Is it possible?

I don't really know if i oversync or not. I sync to what i think is right, and what feels right.
The only video i think i could have oversynced would be my Akira video, but then again, hardly anyone can view it without getting a throbbing headache.
If anyone's seen any of my videos, please tell me. I think i could use a bit of professional feedback. I mean, most of the opinions i had were those kind that make you hurl, except for the few that i begged for, and those were awesome.

i like to pick and choose which beats i want to hit... i like the idea that flow > beatsync... if it doesnt flow with the video then no need to use that beat...
the overall experience to me is more important than hitting beats.

I've almost doen this but caught myself. After spending about 2 hours marking every beat in a section of audio i stopped and asked myself what the hell i thought i was doing. If you keep yourself in check and find skilled/honest people to beta your vids you should be okay.

Ummm.....I just confessed to crying, and no one cares?Sammy wrote:godix wrote:You're quite welcome but really we should be thanking you for all the fine negative examples you've produced over the years.Sammy wrote:Thanks godix. I always thought there was something rotten about that video. I'm glad you took the time in this thread to point out its flaws.Excuse me, I have something in my eye...

Wow, -20 respect points for Beo.Beowulf wrote:Most of Tsukin's work is like that and his videos rock, so there you go.

That's my philosophy. Don't go overboard with useless nonsense unless the song gives a specific point in time that inspires such video trickery. Simple cuts and fades are perfectly fine for the rest, let the footage talk for itself.Beowulf wrote:3. Sprinkled heavily in place of need. Example: When a new instriment is introduced such as a high-hat during a bridge of a song.

I'm glad people are saying synching instead of timing.
I have no comment on the subject. Er... I like concept? Conceptual artistic practices that no one seems to adhere to these days? Um... I like pretty things? Meaning? I don't know, how about... feh, I'm not in the mood.
