My computer has been busted for months, so I had all my huffyuv's saved on a seperate HD. Now that its fixed, im using those same huffyuv's, with the same version i used to make them from amvapp(v2.1.1 - CCESP Patch v0.2.5). When I watch the files in winamp or WMP, they play fine. When I'm editing in premiere they play fine. The only time it messed up is when I preview a clip in premiere, or export in premiere. The colors get all messed up. You can still see the picture, but the colors are all inverted and wierd. I have the YUY2 compression method set for Predict median (best) and RGB compression method to <-- Convert to YUY2. Field Threshold is 480 lines, and either if Always suggest RGB format for output is checked or not it still messes up. Does anyone know what the problem is? Thankyou for you help

Re: Problems with Huffyuv
That's your problem. You need Predict Gradient selected, otherwise you're (IIRC) trying to change the clips colorspace.LightningCountX wrote:and RGB compression method to <-- Convert to YUY2.

If all else fails, perhaps give Lagarith a try?

"Always Suggest RGB mode for output" should solve that problem...
You know what it might be? In the Premiere Pro export settings...

If you don't do this then Premiere can sometimes do a direct stream copy on clips and pre-rendered scenes and this could be in a different colourspace when using Huffyuv (as it has two modes). If this happens you will end having parts of your amv that are a screen of rainbows as the codec is only decoding either RGB or YUY2 not changing between them. Hence, you should always recompress to be certain it's compressing correctly.

Doesn't always solve it. The root problem IS that he's changing colorspaces. It looks like he needs to re-encode all his clips to RGB rather than YUY2.Scintilla wrote:"Always Suggest RGB mode for output" should solve that problem...

I've always had the YUY2 setting enabled and never gave me this problem. been doing that for 2 years now. When I get home ill try selecting the recompress option and see what happens.Dannywilson wrote:Doesn't always solve it. The root problem IS that he's changing colorspaces.
