Opinions without scores

Post by Keeper of Hellfire » Tue Jun 07, 2005 11:17 am

During discussion about making all op's public I got another idea. Sometimes I'd like to leave some remarks for the video I've downloaded, but by no chance I'd give scores. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who hesitates to give an opinion because it means to score the vid by categories too. And others possibly, who also only wanted to leave their thoughts about the vid, leave some random scores depending on if they liked it or not. So why not giving that people a chance to leave some remarks without the need to give scores?

That's why the "AMV Announcements" Section Exists.

That's only good for leaving comments on NEW videos though. I've suggested before that it would be nice if people could leave opinions without leaving a score. But its a fair bit of work to implement something like that, and there are other priorities...

The anouncement section doesn't fulfill that purpose. Less than 10% of all vid's are announced. Even if a vid was announced, if I download it long time later and post in the related topic, the topic will be locked because of necroposting. Leaving remarks in the announcement section can also lead into OT discussions, result: topic locked. For posting in the announcement area is no need to download the vid. Everyone can reply to every one and how often he wants. Op's are always dialogue between reviewer and creator. And it's also difficult to find a topic which is related to the specific vid.

While I personally like this idea, along with the ability to flag videos as "do not p", I think these ideas will ultimately be subject to Phade approval.
