Uncracking MKV -- For The Really Poor Editer

Post by OtakuForLife » Thu Jun 02, 2005 9:32 pm

Ok, I decided.. I needed footage ,but, I refuse to use fansubs...
But I can't find raws, With this guide I hope
to reduce the use for fansubs.

First get MKVExtract, boot it up, select only the video track.
It'll extract as only track 1 <damn command line function> avoid the overwritting pitfall by renaming the file something else after it's extracted. Use the tools in Virtual Dub to get the footage you want and export as normal. After consant testing this way seems to work the best.
He He have fun kids .... :)

Or, you know, VirtualDubMod supports MKV as well.

What's the version number (including bugfix, if applicable), and what exactly was the warning? It probably has nothing to do with the MKV at all.

.0? What's the bugfix number? It should be after the version number, parentheses.

Anyway, I've had this problem before, usually when trying to open things with Wave audio when my system was low on hard drive space (but it was with anything, not just MKV). In any case, it sounds more like a problem with the system setup than VDubMod, since the Matroska import function in 1.5.10.1 is fully functional.

Just also make sure you get the latest bugfix version. Bugfixes only come with the main executable, and you just delete the one that came with the 'All inclusive' package and replace it with the new one. The latest bugfix is 2439, I believe.
