ULEAD GIF ANIMATOR 5

I have a really big question. I would really like to use Ulead's GIF animator 5 to spice up my future vids but whenever I create a clip and export it out of the program to use in my acctual video program I get a file that is monsterous. Is their any way to make the file more compact? I like to keep a record of all the stuff that I use to make a video and I do not want to permanently delete anyting if I can help it.

What type of file are you saving? Gif Animator can render several different format types.
